    Ref: EOB

Straddling the borders of Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, this charming row of single-storey cottages is tucked away along a peaceful country lane, close to the village of Templecombe. Adjacent to the owners’ home, and on an alpaca breeding farm, they offer well-equipped and carefully furnished accommodation for a variety of groups, in a central location ideal for exploring. Outdoor seating areas overlooking a central courtyard provide pleasant places of retreat, and the use of an indoor heated swimming pool completes the picture.
Set amid excellent walking country, the holiday cottages afford ample opportunities for plenty of fresh air, and there are many delights to explore on foot. For those preferring to sightsee further afield, a main line station to Waterloo and Exeter is available from the village and quiet country roads make for scenic drives. The popular attractions of Longleat (with its excellent safari park, animal shows and historic house), Cheddar Gorge and Caves and the splendid NT properties of Stourhead Gardens, Kingston Lacey and Montacute House are all within an easy drive, as is Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum and the fascinating array of classic cars at the Haynes Motor Museum.
Also of great historical interest is the abbey town of Sherborne, the famous Gold Hill at Shaftesbury and the medieval towns of Salisbury and Wells – all offer their own blend of quaint shops and museums to explore, individual shops to browse and tearooms for a welcome refreshment break. For an altogether different scene, the south coast beaches and seaside towns can be reached in around an hour’s drive. Active souls can try their hand at a spot of fishing or a round or two of golf locally, while those preferring spectator sports can visit the National Hunt race course in nearby Wincanton. Grade

    2

    Ref: W44336

The Park is a secret huddle of distinctively chic holiday properties, hidden in a tranquil valley garden just yards from a stunning beach on the north Cornwall coast. No two holiday homes are the same at this holiday park, with stylish lodges and cosy cottages which are all nestled in 27 acres of tranquil grounds. Some of these have private terraces with hot tubs, many have enclosed garden spaces. Most of the homes are dog-friendly, as is the beach, no matter what time of year you come and stay. You can swim in one of our two swimming pools, let off steam in the spa, or lounge in the café. There’s also a children’s play area, table tennis and a DVD library. The Park grounds offer sun traps, hidden pathways and fruit and herb gardens which guests are invited to sample. Next to the café is the heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Outside, you’ll find another heated pool in a south-facing garden setting with views across the valley, complete with a bar serving food and drinks throughout the summer.

If you’re looking for adventure, take a stroll along north Cornwall’s breath-taking coastal paths, beaches and cliffs. For something more extreme, learn to surf at a surf school on Mawgan Porth Beach, or maybe try kite surfing at Watergate Bay, just two miles down the coast. If your food supplies are running low, pick up some holiday essentials at the convenience store in Mawgan Porth Village, or dine at Jamie Oliver’s ’Fifteen’ restaurant at Watergate Bay, or Rick Stein’s Seafood Café at Padstow.

Cornwall has plenty of family attractions, and is also well-known for arts, culture, history, heritage, gardens, food, drink, film, TV and literature. Beaches in the local area, Watergate Bay, and the surf beaches of Newquay, lie within five miles along the coast road southwards, and the seven bays and beaches of St Merryn and Padstow are 10 miles to the north. Further afield, the beaches of Marazion, St Ives, Sennen, Kynance Cove, Falmouth, Perranporth and Porthcurno are among the top ten in the county (according to the Cornwall Guide). Even if the weather is poor, do what the locals do - wrap up warm, take a brisk walk in the wind, watch the waves crash on the rocks and let the Cornish sea air blow the cobwebs away!

Other attractions including the educational Eden Project and Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, are not far away. Cornwall is steeped in myths, legends and folklore, from ‘piskies’ and ’faeries’ to kings and castles. Cornwall’s 50-plus gardens all enjoy the warmth of the Gulf Stream, which means that many are home to rare tropical plants, flowers and trees. There are gardens of different scales in Cornwall, from the small and unusual to the large and more famous. Beach 300 yards. Shop and pub 250 yards, restaurant on-site.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with patio doors/kitchen. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite bathroom with freestanding roll-top bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Two Freeview TVs (one 32"). DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed, lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Shared 27-acre grounds. Parking (1 car).
