Fron Isaf Cottages nestle within the owners’ beautiful grounds and have been sensitively converted from old slate and stone barns into cosy and attractive holiday accommodation, and Ysgubor Uchaf (ref OWW) is a silver award winner with the Green Tourism Council. The stunning indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi make these very special properties. Each cottage has its own outdoor area with private seating and a barbecue. In addition there is a large mature garden with a decked seating area perfect for enjoying the rural views and watching the sun set over the Preselis.
    The properties’ environmental credentials are strong. Water comes from a spring and much of the heating and hot water is from a geothermal source. A footpath leads directly from the cottages providing circular walks of varying length in the surrounding countryside.
    The nearest town is Narberth, with its wonderful shopping opportunities. About half an hour’s drive to the south are Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth with their glorious beaches. While half an hour to the north the dramatic Pembrokeshire and Cardigan coastlines offer beautiful bays, sandy beaches and market towns like Newport, with its excellent restaurants and many good pubs. Carmarthen and Haverfordwest are half an hour away and both towns have a good range of shops, supermarkets and a market. Tourist attractions like Oakwood, Folly Farm, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon Water Park as well as The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and St. Davids - Britain’s smallest city - make for a good day out. There are also at least seventeen castles to visit within an hour’s drive. Excellent walking in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the coast path, as well as activities like golfing, sailing, fishing, cycling and horse riding are plentiful in the area. Shop, 3½ miles, pub 1 mile.

    Beech Farm Cottages offer award winning standards of quality and facilities in a quiet village setting at the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors.     The small village of Wrelton - listed in the Domesday book - is on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, which has over 500 sq miles of moorland and forests, and there are country and woodland walks which start in the village. It has a cosy pub within easy walking distance. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park starts only a couple of miles up the road and the heritage coast is within easy reach. Walking, golf, riding, fishing and numerous village pubs and restaurants are all available within a few miles. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway runs from the picturesque market town of Pickering just three miles away. Pickering also has a castle and museum as well as pubs, shops and a range of restaurants. The delights of the seaside are only just over half an hour’s drive away where unspoilt sandy beaches (Runswick Bay, Filey), historic fishing ports (Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay) and resort attractions (Scarborough) can be found. The walled city of York with its minster, museums and historic centre is within 40 minutes’ drive. Other local attractions include Castle Howard, Flamingo Land theme park and zoo, and Rievaulx Abbey.     Recreational possibilities include: 21 golf courses included in the Freedom of the Fairways Passport; walking, whether gently through woods and alongside rivers and towns, or on the more challenging Southern Upland and St Cuthbert’s Ways; cycling for all abilities on quiet local roads, on the many great cycle routes nearby or try some downhill trails at Glentress Forest, Peebles (cycle store available at the properties); or have fun on their Go Ape tree top adventure course; fishing for salmon and trout on the River Tweed and its tributaries, or on stocked lochs for trout and coarse fish.
