The famous Spa theatre has shows on throughout the year. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in Bridlington, or why not eat at one of the village pubs nearer to the cottage?

    If you enjoy stately homes, there are plenty within a short drive, including Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall, Sewerby Hall and Castle Howard. For the walkers amongst you, the Yorkshire Wolds has some of the best walks through the hidden valleys and sleepy little villages. The Wolds have been made famous by David Hockney’s paintings. He was inspired by the beautiful countryside of the Wolds, yet it still remains a very quiet and unspoilt area of Yorkshire.

    The cottage is well placed to visit Flamborough Head, Filey, Scarborough and even Whitby, as well as the little villages dotted along the country roads with their duck ponds and stone cottages. The city of York is less than an hour away and it is well worth a visit. The striking minster stands proud in the centre and is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. Visit the Shambles with its cobbled streets and overhanging timber framed buildings with little alleyways and interesting shops.
