Rock Cottage sits on the village green in the heart of rural Crosthwiate, a sleepy location in the heart of the Lyth Valley. A mere five miles from both Bowness to the south and the medieval market town of Kendal to the north west, Rock Cottage proves a great base for exploring the local area either by car, on foot or by bike. During April, the hedgerows and orchards are awash with blossom, ready for Damson Day, an exciting annual event where the damsons are picked and produce made locally from the previous year’s harvest are available to buy.
Mid terraced, Rock Cottage has all the ingredients you would expect from a countryside cottage including exposed beams, a warming wood burning stove and traditional furnishings and decor. Set out across three floors, the cottage is well equipped for a self catering break with modern facilities and when the chef wants a night off, there’s an award winning pub within easy walking distance.
